EVeR wondered what your area looked like more than 100 years ago? Well now’s your chance, because we’re giving you the opportunit­y to claim a FRee vintage map of your postcode. These maps, printed on highqualit­y a3 (420mm x 297mm) silk paper, are reproduced from the Ordnance Survey Revised New Series (1897-1904 for england and Wales) and the Scottish Third edition (1903-11) — and were the first maps of Britain produced in colour. Originally published at one inch to the mile (1:63,360), they have been digitally enhanced and enlarged to 1:40,000. each map covers an area of approximat­ely 9 x 6 miles, centred on the postcode provided. We are also offering you the chance to claim a dual Now & Then a3 print comprising two maps of the same postcode. One is from the Revised New Series and the other uses present-day Ordnance Survey mapping at a 1:40,000 scale, providing a side-by-side comparison of how your area has changed over the century. each of the two maps also covers an area of approximat­ely 6 x 3.75 miles and is printed on high-quality silk paper. HOW TO CLAIM YOUR MAP TO ClaIM your FRee map of your area, collect ten out of the 12 tokens we will publish in the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday until November 16 (The first token was printed in Saturday’s paper). Send them with the completed order form (right) and £2.75 to cover postage. Orders must be received by December 2, 2016. Or you can just pay £7.50 to send off immediatel­y for your personalis­ed map or dual Now & Then maps without the need to collect tokens. all maps will be posted unfolded in hard-backed envelopes, ready for framing.
