CLASSIC MOVIE The Ladykillers, 5.25pm, Film4
SUPERB Ealing comedy, starring Alec Guinness as the leader of a gang of robbers. It recently found new audiences on stage, but the 2004 remake with Tom Hanks didn’t quite hit the right note.
FILM DRAMA 5 To 7, 6.15pm, Sky Premiere
AN EXTRAMARITAL affair is the backdrop for this nostalgic drama — one conducted with the knowledge of the woman’s husband. Anton Yelchin is the young man who struggles with his emotions in a part-time relationship.
CURRENT AFFAIRS Zero Day: Nuclear Cyber Sabotage, 9pm, BBC4
THE Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney presents a thrilling, troubling insight into cyber warfare. His documentary is hinged around an exploration of Stuxnet, the malicious software that targeted Iran’s nuclear technology, which no one admits to making.

A ONCE magnificent hotel in a fictional central European country is the setting for a series of wild and tall tales. Ralph Fiennes (pictured) heads a fine cast as a charismatic concierge.
WHODUNIT Murdoch Mysteries, 9pm, Alibi
PRIVATE eye Freddie Pink returns in this new case for the Edwardianera detective, Murdoch. Rather like Sherlock Holmes, Alex PaxtonBeesley’s character (pictured) is an eccentric presence, and that’s no accident, as the episode’s title — A Study In Pink, a reference to the Holmes story A Study In Scarlet — clearly indicates. early indicates
HISTORIC ENQUIRY Hunting Hitler, 10pm, History
IN JULY last year, the team behind this returning documentary series found the son of a man who helped Nazis to flee to Argentina — and he had a picture that suggests Hitler was among them. Could it be true? This series feels more credible than many of its kind, although the pulsing soundtrack is a bit much.
DOCUMENTARY Metal: How It Works, 10.30pm, BBC4
THIS is one of those BBC4 series that sounded deathly dull, but actually turned out to be riveting. The scientist Mark Miodownik sets out to chart how humans learned to use metals to their advantage, before analysing metals at an atomic level to reveal some of their surprising properties.
