- By Tom Payne

A YOUNG mother plummeted to her death after attempting to climb into her home through an upstairs window.

Simone Jarvis is thought to have been on a night out and locked herself out of her first-floor flat early in the morning.

The 27-year- old attempted to scale the side of the building, but fell and suffered fatal head injuries outside the first-floor flat she shared with her young son.

Neighbours in the affluent suburb of Cotham, Bristol, described being woken by screams and police sirens at about 4am on Saturday

The mother- of- one, who had recently passed her driving test and graduated from college, was taken to hospital but died the next day. The flat’s window, one of seven on the side of the large, detached property, was more than 10ft from the ground, directly above a large bay window.

Yesterday Miss Jarvis’s former partner Christian Wiltshire, also 27, described her as a ‘beautiful girl inside and out.’ He said: ‘All of my friends and family that met her immediately loved her. She was an incredible mum to her son and a great girlfriend. She left a massive mark on my heart that will always be there and had such a positive impact on my life.

‘I feel so very honoured to have got to know her and will cherish the memories that we share forever.’

Writing on Facebook, her uncle Ross Boyle-Stewart said: ‘I am completely lost for words. I have such a deep sadness in my heart right now. You were more than just my niece you were more like a little sister to me. Such a beautiful person in and out. You will always be in my heart. Always. Love you Simone Jarvis.’

Emma Caton, 42, an artist who lives in the ground-floor flat beneath Miss Jarvis, said: ‘She moved here a few years ago when her little boy was about one-year-old. I used to see her regularly and I would always say hello to her. She was really proud of her accomplishments such a passing her driving test and putting herself through college.

‘She felt proud to be able to support herself and her son. We would always stop and have a little chat.’
