ALL meters should have a serial number written on them somewhere. Call the energy firm that supplies power to your home and ask for the serial numbers of the gas and electricit­y meters linked to your property. Then go outside and see which meters match those numbers. It may be worth checking with the previous owner, if you have their details, or with the neighbours.

CHANGE your junk mail filter, so that only emails from your contact list land in your inbox. Go into outlook, click ‘Junk’, then ‘Junk Email options’ and select ‘High’.

You’ll need to check your junk mail folder occasional­ly just in case any genuine emails have been blocked.
