Hiddleston: I only wore Taylor top to protect back

TOM Hiddleston claims that the reason he wore an ‘I heart T.S’ tank top was because he had a graze.

The Night Manager actor was pictured (right) at the beach with Taylor Swift and friends on July 4 last year.

According to Hiddleston, Miss Swift’s entourage all own the tank tops and he agreed to wear it as a joke. He told GQ magazine: ‘The truth is, we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back. I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, “Does anyone have a T-shirt?” And one of her friends said, “I’ve got this.” ’

The pair enjoyed a brief but highly public romance from June to September last year, leading some to suspect it was just a publicity stunt.

But Hiddleston insisted: ‘Of course it was real. [But] a relationship in the limelight… A relationship always takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.’
