RACK upon rack of Chanel bags. A heaving display of sumptuous silk scarves. More than 24 black blazers. And enough shoes to make Imelda Marcos green with envy. That’s not to mention a £7,000 coat, £ 50,000 of accessories and a £ 60,000 crocodile skin bag.

Welcome to the wardrobe of Catherine Zeta-Jones — which contains clothes worth more than a million pounds. Yesterday, the 47-year- old Welsh star showed off this astonishing fashion collection in a video on social media. Thought to have been filmed in her £7 million mansion in the Bedford Hills area of New York, it shows her vast closet (the square footage of which appears larger than the average living room).

Walls and shelves are black, to better showcase the rainbow of clothes on the rails, all strictly colour coded — when you have 14 white tops, it helps to keep them together. The most expensive items are displayed on lit glass shelves, and there’s an enormous dressing table in the corner. An entire wall is devoted to shoes.

It shows just how far the sweetheart of the Valleys — who rose to fame in TV’s The Darling Buds Of May — has come.

Thanks to her Hollywood roles and marriage to Michael Douglas, she has all the trappings of the A-list life — and has been quoted as saying £1 million is ‘not a lot of money to us’. Well, now we know she has more than that in her wardrobe alone.
