Bathe at the correct heat for your health condition

-

A HOT bath has long been recognised as beneficial for those with aches and pains. But people with heart conditions, including high blood pressure, need to take special care. In a hot and steamy atmosphere, blood vessels in the skin dilate and blood pressure drops. At the same time, the blood flow to the internal organs actually decreases, which can cause angina and dizziness. That doesn’t mean you should stop bathing — far from it. A walk-in bath with a small door allows you to bathe in water that is temperature-controlled by a thermostat set in accordance with your health. Not only that, but there is the security of a seat, while a grab bar and slip-resistant flooring will keep you steady and safe. If you no longer have to climb over the side of a bath, the risk of a fall is significantly reduced. Having low access also ends any concerns about becoming stuck in the bath, or having to get onto all fours to lever yourself up. Alternatively, bathing in a walk-in bath is a great way to unwind, when you have a thermostat to control the temperature safely safely— — and a hydrotherapy option. Basking in a gentle stream of warm air bubbles can ease joints and muscles, offering natural pain relief from aches, without having to rely solely on creams and medicines. Changing to a walk-in shower (pictured) can also make a huge difference to quality of life, allowing an elderly person to regain their independence and dignity, as well as the freedom to wash with confidence whenever they want to.
