Pippa plans bridal BIKINI with Kate’s swimwear guru
THE DUCHESS of Cambridge’s younger sister unexpectedly found herself centre stage at the Royal Wedding thanks to that famously figure-hugging bridesmaid dress.
And I can reveal Pippa Middleton is taking no chances when it comes to her own nuptials to hedge fund manager James Matthews.
The professional party planner, 33, has enlisted the help of the Duchess’s swimwear designer Melissa Odabash, whose famous clients include Kate Moss, Beyonce and the Kardashians, to ensure that her pert posterior gets the show it deserves.
‘We’re in discussions about me designing something for the wedding, but that’s all I can say. I sell to James’s resort, Eden Rock, so I have that connection with the venue already,’ Melissa, right, tells me at the Future Dreams charity gala.
Pippa and James, 41, are expected to take a pre-wedding honeymoon in St Barts at his family’s luxury hotel before the ceremony in St Mark’s Church near Bucklebury on May 20. Despite her promise to Pippa to keep tightlipped, Melissa couldn’t help divulging her ideas for Pippa’s bridal bikini.
‘I have lots of great ideas, I always do!,’ she says. ‘I think it’s very cute when brides have their married name written on the bikini bottoms. You’re on such a high from your wedding and you want to tell the world: “I’m now a Mrs!” You should just enjoy it. So “Mrs Matthews” written on the back would look great.’
Having previously explained that Pippa is a great model for her swimwear ‘because she’s got curves in all the right places,’ the Americanborn designer, who lives in London with her husband and two daughters, admits she’s inspired by the Middleton style.
‘What I love about Kate and Pippa is that they are conservative, and I love when you’re young but you dress conservatively,’ she says. ‘I think we need to promote that more with all these reality shows and vulgarity that’s out there.’
