Engineer’s £768m deal
AMEC Foster Wheeler has signed a £768m deal with the US Air Force just days after agreeing to a £2.2bn swoop from rival Wood Group.
The five-year contract will see the engineer provide construction and engineering services to the US Air Force and other US Department of Defence sites worldwide.
Aberdeen- based Wood Group made a bid for the firm on Monday, in a takeover that will see investment bankers, lawyers and spin doctors pocket tens of millions of pounds in fees.
Ann Massey, president of Amec Foster Wheeler’s Environment and Infrastructure arm, said: ‘We are honoured to receive this contract.’
Amec Foster shares fell 3.2pc, or 16.4p, to 496.6p.
