Ashley ups shop stake

MIKE Ashley has increased his stake in Debenhams yet again, taking his holding up to 16pc.

Ashley’s Sports Direct controls the shares through a complex derivative which allows him to hold voting rights. Since first taking an interest in the company in January 2014, Sports Direct has installed seven concessions in its High Street department stores.
