STUCK WITH AN OLD STICK

-

IT’S the perfect business model: pick up a stick, drill a hole in it, hang it on the wall of your trendy North London florist and then sell it for £18 a pop. That is what Alice Howard, owner of Botanique in Stoke Newington, appears to have done. The 29-yearold florist got some stick for selling twigs that could have come from the local park. In fact, she says they are made by a man in Devon who sands and planes them, and drills holes so they can be put on the wall. Surely even the trendiest of hipsters will twig they’re being had?

SHOP PRICE: £18. DIY PRICE: Free.
