Bovey’s business bombs
BANKRUPT businessman Grant Bovey has suffered another devastating blow since his latest venture, a music app called MSTY, made a staggering £2.6 million loss last year. At the time, Bovey insisted the company required ‘significant investment during its early years’, but such breezy optimism has proved misplaced.
The High Court has ordered MSTY — designed for users to swap clips of songs with a photo and text — to be wound up, and demanding costs be paid to HM Revenue & Customs out of the company’s assets. There is no word from Bovey, 56, who last year reputedly pocketed £100,000 for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, shortly after parting from Zoe De Mallett Morgan — the blonde half his age with whom he had embarked on an affair while married to former BBC golden girl Anthea Turner.
Although they divorced in 2015, Anthea holds 12 shares in MSTY. Perhaps she can’t forget the glory days of Bovey’s £100 million buy-to-let empire — before it collapsed with debts of £50 million, leading to him being declared bankrupt in 2010.
