Vaizey’s wages top the PM’s!
WHEN he was sacked by Theresa May as a culture minister last summer, Ed Vaizey conceded that he was not as close to the new PM as he was to her predecessor, David Cameron, with whom he could just ‘pick up the phone and get an answer’.
But the 48-year- old MP for Wantage, who admitted that ‘even though Theresa May is in the same political party, I don’t know her’, is much more cheerful now.
Since being booted out of government, he has taken on roles at Lion Tree LLC and on the International eGames Committee, the combined rewards for which are an annual £75,000. Added to his MP’s salary, also £75,000, this means Vaizey is now pulling in £150,000-a-year — beating the £149,440 of the PM, who, given his extracurricular commitments, presumably still remains unknown to him.
