How can I beat the bra strap bulge this summer?

- Dr Tracy Mountford

QI AM in my 50s and avoid wearing sleeveless tops because I have excess fat around my bra straps. Is there anything I can do to remove it without scarring?

AFat bulges can appear either side of the bra strap. For many women, a bra overhang makes wearing sleeveless dresses and swimsuits impossible.

However, bra fat is an easier area to treat than you may think. It’s well-known that the majority of women wear an ill-fitting bra size, which can cause this unsightly overhang.

the easiest solution is to visit a lingerie specialist and invest in a supportive bra in the right size. For stubborn bra fat, I would recommend considering Coolsculpting, which is a fatfreezing treatment that has an applicator specifically designed to treat small areas around the body.

this cryolipolysis technology targets, cools and crystallises fat cells, which are eliminated naturally over time. the result is permanent fat reduction in just a single treatment.

It takes three to six weeks to notice improvements, with optimum results after eight to ten weeks. Fees from £1,600.
