Right royal powers

-

mPs want to scrutinise fully the Repeal Bill but, apparently, have insufficient time in two years, without granting ministers and civil servants ‘ Henry VIII powers’, which the Opposition and pro-eU parliamentarians don’t like and hope to use to delay Brexit.

Solution: ten days’ holiday at Christmas, a week at easter (both inclusive of Bank Holidays), a fortnight in the summer and Bank Holiday mondays.

Once we are out of the eU, the mPs can go back to their old ways — or would they rather grant the ‘Henry VIII powers’?

ROBERT WRIGHT, St Neots, Cambs. THROUgHOUT its membership, Britain has been a net contributor to the eU, improving its infrastructure.

now that we are leaving, surely the issue should be how much money we get back, not how much more we have to pay in?
