Do the honours
THe case of Dr Bill Frankland (mail) brings into focus the sheer idiocy of our Honours system.
Here is a man aged 105, still working as a consultant, contributing published articles worldwide, yet he has been recognised only after a lifetime of public service by the award of an mBe.
Knighthoods are scattered liberally to pop stars and sports people whose achievements can’t begin to be compared with the contribution Dr Frankland has made to the nation.
One has to ask who makes these dubious honours decisions, and with what justification?
