Cheer up Rod! Star’s day out with wives No 2 and 3

- By Susie Coen Showbusiness Reporter

WHEN you’ve had eight children by five mothers, it would be understandable if family get-togethers proved to be a little, well, awkward.

And as he sits with both his third and second wives, Sir Rod Stewart certainly looks rather fretful.

But despite appearances, this meeting of past and present members of the Stewart clan proved them to be a very modern happy family as they came together to cheer Sir Rod’s son Liam on to gold at an ice hockey final.

The 72-year-old was joined by his wife Penny Lancaster, 46, and Liam’s mother Rachel Hunter, 47, as he watched the 22-year-old in the Great Britain v Japan match on Saturday.

Sir Rod had flown to Belfast on a private jet to watch his son’s team win.

The group – which included Sir Rod and Miss Lancaster’s two sons Alastair, 11, and Aiden, six – leapt to their feet to cheer the Coventry Blaze player as he helped Great Britain to a 4-0 victory at the finals of the Hockey Division 1B World Championship.

Also present was Liam’s glamorous girlfriend Nicole Artukovich, 22.

Following the game former model Miss Hunter took to Instagram to share her pride with several photos, including one of her and Liam captioned: ‘So much emotion tonight! Congrats to Team GB Ice Hockey on GOLD.’

Liam scored his first international goal against Estonia last weekend, but only his mother attended as his father was watching his beloved Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 in the Scottish Cup.

However, the Maggie May singer made up for his absence by posting a video on Instagram where he replayed the highlights and punched the air shouting ‘My boy!’ when Liam scored.

‘So much emotion!’
