Fund boss joins Glencore

LEADING fund manager Martin Gilbert has joined the board of miner Glencore as an independent non-executive director.

The 61-year-old is chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management and deputy chairman at Sky.

Glencore’s chairman, former BP boss Tony Hayward, said: ‘Martin is one of the leading entrepreneurs of asset management.’
