The show WILL go on, Sewing Bee judge insists

-

THE BBC’s Great British Sewing Bee has been given a new lease of life, reveals on-screen judge Patrick Grant, following reports in February that it faced the axe.

Fans feared the show, presented by Claudia Winkleman, would not be re-commissioned after the Beeb lost The Great British Bake Off to Channel 4. ‘It’s not true that it’s been axed. I don’t know why that story was put out,’ Savile Row designer Patrick tells me.

‘as far as we all know, the discussions are still on-going and I think everybody involved is confident it’s coming back. There was a lot of conversation about Sewing Bee moving, or being axed because of the huge changes with Bake Off, as they have the same production company, which is Love Productions.

‘as of right now, they are actively discussing it.

‘It was last on in June last year, and it wouldn’t be coming out this June, but the plan is for it to be on TV again next year.

‘Somebody even started a petition, which, again, was very confusing because we hadn’t even been cancelled in the first place!’
