Top store? DIY chain has got it nailed
A DIY store hardly matches the glamour of Harvey Nicks or Apple’s effortless cool.
But toolstation has beaten these names and 98 others in a survey of customer satisfaction and how likely consumers were to recommend the retailer.
It finished joint-top with electrical chain Richer Sounds in the annual Which? consumer survey, with supermarket Morrisons voted the worst of 100 stores polled.
the joint-winners both achieved a customer score of 80 per cent in the poll of 10,214 shoppers in the UK.
Last year toolstation shared the crown with John Lewis, while Richer Sounds previously topped the poll in 2011.
Which? editor Richard Headland said: ‘ the best retailers, Richer Sounds and toolstation, continue to strike the right balance by selling quality products at reasonable prices.’
Luxury department store Harvey Nichols jumped from 21st place last year to jointthird with John Lewis and Waterstones.
Morrisons said it was ‘baffled’ by its 55 per cent score, given it had recently been named the most improved supermarket in the UK by a separate Which? survey. toolstation marketing director John Meaden said: ‘We are pleased to be named joint top of the survey ahead of some great names.’
