CITY CLOSING IN ON £30M WALKER

MANCHESTER CITY believe they can sign Kyle Walker in a deal worth over £30million. The Tottenham right back’s future has been uncertain in recent weeks after the England international was dropped by boss Mauricio Pochettino for two high-profile clashes — the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea and the north London derby win over Arsenal. There is a growing belief at White Hart Lane that Walker will be sacrificed by Pochettino as he looks to bolster his transfer kitty. City manager Pep Guardiola is in the market for two new full backs and Walker fits the bill. The Sheffield-born defender signed a fiveyear deal in September but could double his £70,000-a-week salary by moving back north. A bid upwards of £30m would give Pochettino funds as he looks to strengthen his squad.
