SNATCHED KISSES AT POLO

-

FOR months the young lovebirds hid their transatlantic relationship, donning beanie hats for low-key London dates, surfacing only for private parties (the Jamaican wedding of one of Harry’s closest friends and an after-hours trip to the Natural History Museum) and hopping on private planes in the dead of night.

But last week’s display at the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot suggests a change in tactics.

One day, Meghan was pictured cheering proudly from the sidelines; the next, they were photographed sharing a kiss in the car park (above).

A long list of royal romances have played out around the sport. Kate, significantly, didn’t join William at the polo for seven years after they started dating — and an engagement followed soon after.

Royal sources say the mediasavvy Harry and Meghan knew exactly what they were doing. ‘They were both more than happy to be seen by all and sundry,’ adds an onlooker.

What’s more, the polo paves the way for a summer of A-list events at which to flaunt their romance.

Meghan, who attended Wimbledon last year, may well find herself in the royal box at the All England Club in July. And in September there’s the Invictus Games — Harry’s sporting championships for injured servicemen and women — conveniently taking place in her adopted home city of Toronto.
