PEP GUARDIOLA has refused to guarantee Yaya Toure a new deal at Manchester City. Toure is one of seven City players whose contract expires at the end of the season. Guardiola said he has made a final call on the players but will not tell them his decision until after City’s last game. ‘No, it doesn’t depend on if they are going to play the last few games,’ he said. ‘The decision is made and we are going to communicate that after the season.’ DAVID MOYES was shocked to learn that Jermain Defoe’s Sunderland contract allows him to leave on a free after relegation — and has revealed that injury-prone Jack Rodwell is the only player NOT to be hit by a wage cut. Moyes said: ‘What price might we have got for Jermain Defoe? It is a bad deal.’ Rodwell, meanwhile, will remain on £60,000 a week while the rest of the squad lose 40 per cent of their earnings.
