Healthy gut green smoothie

SHOP-BOUGHT smoothies can be far too sweet, but this homemade one is both delicious and healthy. Spinach is rich in vitamins and flavonoids, shown to boost beneficial bacteria in the gut, while avocado is packed with good natural fats and vitamin E.

SERVES 1

2 handfuls organic spinach leaves

220ml water

½ avocado

1 medium banana

1 tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)

1 tbsp root ginger, chopped (optional)

Juice 1 lemon

BLITZ together all the ingredient­s in a blender until thick and creamy.
