Fergie is reunited with love who broke her heart
Sarah, Duchess of York, has had a poignant reunion with her one- time lover Steve Wyatt at his family home.
Fergie visited Steve and his parents in houston, Texas, at a lunch to mark Mother’s Day in the U.S. at the intimate occasion were Steve, his mother Lynn, his oil tycoon stepfather Oscar Wyatt, and Steve’s close friend, shoe designer Joyce Echols.
Fergie, 57, met Steve in 1989 at houston Grand Opera’s British Opera Festival, when she was already pregnant with her second child Princess Eugenie.
Unwisely, Fergie formed a close association with Wyatt, who moved to London and squired the pregnant Duchess round the town, remarking at one dinner: ‘Mah woman sits next to me.’
Fergie was soon infatuated. On finding out Wyatt had become engaged to Cate Magennis in 1993 she confided to a friend: ‘I can’t have the man I love because he’s getting married.
‘What’s the matter with me? Why didn’t he marry me?’
When Wyatt was in London with his new wife, he took her to dinner at La Famiglia in Chelsea. Fergie got wind of his visit, drove to the restaurant and peered through the window in case she could see him. She didn’t and was too hesitant to go in.
after their affair ended, she grew close to his pal John Bryan who famously sucked her toes while she sunbathed topless in the South of France.
Bryan remained ‘fantastically jealous of Wyatt’.
Fergie and Prince andrew separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996. Wyatt is also amicably divorced from Cate, with whom he has two children. The highlight of last weekend’s lunch in river Oaks, houston, was when Steve gave an emotional toast to his mother saying: ‘She gave me my heart.’ and Fergie, it seems, lost hers to him.
