DRASTIC DAVE IN COURT
TESCO boss Dave Lewis will take the witness stand in the trial of three former executives accused of fraud in the grocer’s £326m accounting scandal.
Lewis – dubbed ‘Drastic Dave’ for cost-cutting in his previous job at Unilever – is among ten new witnesses called by the court, it emerged yesterday.
It relates to a fraud case against three former directors. Carl Rogberg, the former finance director of Tesco UK, John Scouler, former commercial director for food and Christopher Bush, former Tesco UK managing director, all face charges for fraud by abuse of position and false accounting.
The three men could face up to ten years in prison if found guilty of fraud and seven years for false accounting.
