Aristocrat, 77, cleared after 3-car crash
AN ARISTOCRAT who caused a three car pile-up has been cleared of dangerous driving.
However, Susan Zetland was fined £500 and had six penalty points added to her licence after she admitted to driving carelessly.
Lady Zetland, 77, was on her way to a gym when she hit another driver at a partially closed junction. Her car was sent into the oncoming lane where it was struck by a lorry.
She later admitted to police that she had not been driving as carefully as she should.
Jurors at Teesside Crown Court deliberated for over four hours before finding her not guilty of dangerous driving.
