Where was Noel as Liam sang for the Manchester victims? Sipping rosé on speedboat

LOUNGING in the sun on a speedboat with his wife, Noel Gallagher is clearly a long way away from Manchester.

The singer-songwriter sipped rosé and sunbathed in Italy as his brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam performed in Sunday’s benefit concert for victims of the Manchester terror attack.

While Noel relaxed in the village of Positano, his younger brother fired off a series of tweets slamming him for snubbing the gig at Old Trafford cricket ground.

Liam, 44, who performed Oasis hit Live Forever with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, wrote: ‘Manchester id like to apologise for my brothers absence last night very disappointed stay beautiful stay safe LG.’

The singer, who flew in from Germany for the memorial show, added: ‘Noels out of the f****** country, weren’t we all love, get on a f****** plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad f***.’ Noel, 50, enjoyed a boat trip with Scottish wife Sara MacDonald, 45, on Sunday as the couple made the most of their stay on the Amalfi Coast.

A spokesman for the star, who is worth an estimated £46million, confirmed before the One Love concert that he would not be performing due to a ‘longstanding family trip’.

The Gallagher brothers, who hail from the Manchester suburb of Burnage, have been locked in a feud since Oasis split in 2009, following a backstage fight between the pair in Paris.

Liam was the special surprise performer at Sunday’s concert and arrived on stage with typical bravado wearing a bright orange parka.

The singer performed the Oasis song Rock ’n’ Roll Star with a backing band followed by his latest solo single Wall Of Glass. He then dedicated his final song, Oasis’s Live Forever, to the victims of the atrocity and was joined by Coldplay frontman Martin and the band’s guitarist Jonny Buckland for the performance.

The concert, attended by 50,000 fans and watched by 11 million on BBC 1, was headed by American pop star Ariana Grande. Her concert at the Manchester Arena on May 22 was attacked by suicide bomber Salman Abedi, who killed 22.

Miss Grande performed her hits alongside performances from the likes of Take That, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

The sold-out concert has raised more than £10 million for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund set up by Manchester City Council and the British Red Cross.
