SNP: We will back Labour
NICOLA Sturgeon vowed once again to prop up Labour as she prepared to face her first election debate last night.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour yesterday, the Scottish National Party leader revealed she had not ruled out working with Jeremy Corbyn after the poll.
Just hours before she was due to appear on Question Time, she clarified that she did not ‘favour formal coalitions’ but would support an ‘alternative’ to the Conservatives.
She added: ‘I said this in 2015 – if the parliamentary arithmetic post election supported this, I would want the SNP to be part of a progressive alternative to a Tory government.
I don’t favour formal coalitions, I’m talking something that would be... on an issue-by-issue basis.’
