US turns up heat on Salazar medic
THE investigation into allegations of doping at the Nike Oregon Project, where Sir Mo Farah has been based for six years, seems to be heading towards a dramatic conclusion. According to a report in the New York Times last night, the US Anti-Doping Agency has sent an official notice of rules violations to the physician at the centre of the inquiry. Dr Jeffrey Brown, an endocrinologist who acts as a personal physician to Farah’s coach, Alberto Salazar, as well as a consultant to the NOP and its athletes, is said to have been accused of violating anti-doping rules in what could prove the first step in a series of charges being issued. Brown, Salazar and the athletes under him have denied wrongdoing.
