Out of the mouths of babes

-

MY GRANDSON Jonathan was two-and-a-half years old; his new baby sister Emily was two weeks old. He’d already shown his delight in her and was very caring. She was crying, so Jonathan said: ‘Don’t cry, Emily, use your words!’ He was copying his Mummy, who says that to him when he’s making a silly noise. How would he know baby Emily wouldn’t understand, let alone speak out about how she was troubled? Lynda Norman, Felixstowe, Suffolk.
