Talbot gets 4 more years for sex abuse

FORMER TV weatherman Fred Talbot was jailed for four more years yesterday for a string of historical sex offences against schoolboys.

The 67-year-old, who is already serving five years for indecently assaulting two boys, attacked seven others aged 15 to 17 on school trips between 1978 and 1981 when he was a Manchester teacher.

Lanark Sheriff Court in Scotland heard it was ‘beyond doubt’ the camping and boat trips were ‘organised with sexual exploitation in mind’. The sentence runs from August, when his current jail term would have ended.
