Fashion label Quiz to float for £200m

- by Victoria Ibitoye

FAST fashion upstart Quiz is gearing up for a £200m float on London’s junior market as it powers ahead with its international expansion plan. The retailer, which sells womenswear and casual wear for 16 to 35-year-olds, will use the proceeds to speed growth. It is the latest British upstart to float on AIM, joining rivals such as Boohoo and Asos, as millennialtargeted sites outpace the high street retailers. Minnow Quiz sprouted from a shop in Glasgow in 1993 and now operates like rival Boohoo, selling clothes by producing them in small batches, seeing how they sell, and making more if they prove to be successful. Sales rose to £90m in the year to the end of March, from £69m, while profits jumped 29.5pc to £56m.
