CITY PLAY IT SAFE IN TERRIERS’ £8M MOOY TRANSFER
MANCHESTER CITY have included buy-back and sell-on clauses in the deal with Huddersfield Town for Aaron Mooy. The clubs have agreed a £10million fee for the 26-year-old made up of £8m up front and £2m in add-ons. The Australia international had interest from seven other clubs but was keen to return to Huddersfield, where he won promotion to the Premier League. City are looking to offload other fringe players to fund their recruitment drive. They hope to raise £100m by selling Samir Nasri, Nolito, Wilfried Bony, Eliaquim Mangala, Fabian Delph, Joe Hart and Kelechi Iheanacho, who is drawing strong interest from Leicester after West Ham made their initial approach. City have received plenty of loan offers but want to sell. Talks are ongoing for Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe, Kyle Walker from Tottenham, Ryan Bertrand at Southampton and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. Mbappe met Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev to discuss a new contract yesterday.
