5 OVERSEAS RAIDERS CHASING THE SPOILS

-

LADY AURELIA (11-4) Trained by Wesley Ward (King’s Stand Stakes, 3.40)

Speed machine when winning last year’s Queen Mary Stakes by seven lengths. Looked far more settled in taking the Giant’s Causeway Stakes at Keeneland in April. Big chance.

SIGNS OF BLESSING (13-2) Trained by Francois Rohaut (King’s Stand Stakes, 3.40)

Put in a storming run when giving last year’s King’s Stand winner Prohibition 11lb and beating him two lengths. Third in 2016 Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

LA CORONEL (20-1) Trained by Mark Casse (Coronation Stakes, Friday, 4.20)

Indiana-born Mark Casse brought Tepin here last year and scooped the Queen Anne Stakes. La Coronel does not have such a hot chance, but a recent Turf win from a poor draw at Churchill Downs makes her a decent each-way shot.

HAPPY LIKE A FOOL (7-4) Trained by Wesley Ward Queen Mary, tomorrow, 3.05

Three of Ward’s seven Royal Ascot winners have come in this race and, while this four-length Keeneland debut winner might not have the quality of 2016 heroine Lady Aurelia, the trainer reckons she is good enough.

FAS (14-1) Trained by Pia Brandt Commonwealth Cup, Friday, 3.40

Thrown into one of the hottest races of the week but this speedster slammed the subsequent French 1,000 Guineas winner Precieuse by more than three lengths in the Prix Sigy at Chantilly in April. Each-way claims.
