STEPPING UP Two rising stars have been appointed to run the £336bn stock and bond business of new investment giant Standard Life Aberdeen.

Devan Kaloo, 44, will oversee £152bn of funds as global equity head at the business, which is being formed through an £11bn merger of rivals Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management. Craig MacDonald, 48, will be in charge of the £184bn fixed income unit. NEW ROLE Small lender Metro Bank has appointed Monique Melis as a non-executive director. She will remain as head of regulatory consulting at advice firm Duff & Phelps. DIVI RISE The investment trust F&C Global Smaller Companies has hiked its dividend by 14.5pc to 12.25p per share – its 47th consecutiv­e year of growth. SPANISH DEAL Credit-checking firm Callcredit Informatio­n Group has bought a majority stake in Spanish anti-fraud company Confirma. The Leeds-based business entered Spain in 2015 and is aiming to boost its operations there.
