ROYAL RIVALS Mary, Queen Of Scots, 3.50pm, Film4
THIS gloriously extravagant, wildly inaccurate and brilliantly acted drama sees Vanessa Redgrave and Glenda Jackson going head to head as Mary Stuart and Elizabeth I. Of course, it does not end well for one of them.
LOOKING FOR LAUGHS Sky Arts’ Summer Comedy Shorts, Sky On Demand/Now TV
ANDREW FLINTOFF is the unlikely star of one of these seven new summer-themed comedies. There’s also a promising Margateset tale written by Sharon Horgan and starring Morgana Robinson.
BEAUTY BATTLE Spa Wars, 8pm, ITVBe
IN WHAT is essentially Come Dine With Me for beauty salons, three owners visit the others’ establishments to snarkily undergo their rivals’ best treatments. The wild card here is Andrei (pictured with Jayde), who specialises in good old-fashioned Russian treatments and has a keen ear for claptrap.
SCI-FI MOVIE Okja, Netflix
NETFLIX premiered this curious corporate satire at Cannes. It concerns a young girl, a genetically bred super-pig and Tilda Swinton as a biotech CEO with something to hide.
CYBER THRILLER Mr Robot, 9pm, Universal
THIS super-stylish drama comes alive at the start and end of its seasons, and this is the end of season two, when hacker Elliot confronts his hallucinations. If that sounds confusing, it’s actually pretty straightforward by Mr Robot standards. Season three will be coming to Amazon Prime.
AMBITIOUS BUILD Grand Designs Australia, 9pm, More4
THE new series begins with a stunning but extremely challenging fourstorey home — more like an urban castle, really — to be built in an old Sydney quarry, on a narrow plot. The family behind it start to improvise as problems arise, which alarms host Peter Maddison. ESPIONAGE TALE Spies Of Warsaw, 9pm, BBC4 ATMOSPHERIC drama that’s reminiscent of a vintage Le Carre series and comes from Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. Set in Warsaw in 1937, it stars David Tennant (picturedp with Janet Montgomery) g y) as a brooding and extremely competent French spy who thinks the Nazis are up to something.
WILD WEST Cowboys & Outlaws, 10pm, H2
THIS history series has the courage not to start with the obvious — Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, etc — but instead chooses the trailblazing cattle drive of Charles Goodnight and Oliver Loving across Comanche territory, which inspired Lonesome Dove. (Sky 531, Virgin 273)
WAR FILM Operation Chromite, 10.10pm, Sky Premiere
THIS fact-based Korean War drama stars Liam Neeson as U.S. general MacArthur, sending South Korean partisans on an ill-fated mission. The largely Korean cast adds authenticity.
