Good year at the office as Gervais makes £2.5million

COMIC Ricky Gervais always seems pleased with himself, but now he has a new reason to feel smug.

The 56-year-old star of The Office made a profit of £2.47 million in a year, according to accounts for his TV production company Red Lion 100.

No pay to Gervais is reported in the accounts for the 12 months to March, but they do report a £2.28million dividend payment to him for 2016.

The actor, who lives in London with girlfriend Jane Fallon, is worth an estimated £55 million.

He said of his wealth: ‘I know it sounds a lot, but remember, I donate a lot of this to good causes (the Inland Revenue mainly).’
