KATE: WE’LL NEED TO HAVE MORE BABIES!

Duchess hints at third child – and says: I’m no beauty, it’s just make-up

SHE certainly has her hands full with George and Charlotte – but that hasn’t stopped the Duchess of Cambridge hinting she would like a third baby.

On the first day of a royal tour in Europe yesterday, Kate was offered a cuddly toy designed to soothe newborns during an event for new technology firms.

Offering her thanks for the gift, she turned to Prince William laughing and said: ‘We will just have to have more babies.’

The couple were in the Polish capital Warsaw for the beginning of the five-day trip, which will also see the Royal Family visit Germany.

The soft toys, from company Whisbear, are designed to comfort newborns by replicating the sound of the womb, responding to their cries to soothe them.

Julia Sielicka- Jastrzebska, who founded the company with her sister, said the duchess made the light-hearted comment after learning the bears, which she had admired, were designed for children younger than George and Charlotte.

Among the presents were a bear for each child, and a T-shirt for the duchess with the slogan ‘i’mperfect’; part of the company’s campaign to encourage mothers not to feel the pressure to be flawless.

The campaign clearly resonated with 35year-old Kate as earlier in the day she had told well-wishers that her good looks were all down to her make-up.

Magda Mordaka, 21, a student who spoke to the duchess outside the Presidential Palace, said: ‘We were telling her that she is beautiful and perfect, but she said, “It’s not true – it’s just the make-up”.’

The duke and duchess were at The Heart, a centre for digital and tech start-ups in Warsaw. The royal couple were shown a variety of innovations, including a robot designed for children to code.

Before taking their leave the duke, 35, and duchess spent time with six Polish students who are studying in the UK.

After being asked for a selfie with three of them, Prince William joked: ‘I’m allergic to selfies but let’s take a photograph.’

Watching his wife pose with the others, he made her laugh by teasing her: ‘You don’t look as clever as the other three.’

William and Kate also visited the Warsaw Rising Museum, dedicated to the 1944 Polish uprising to liberate Warsaw from German occupation during the Second World War.

When they move on to Germany, they will have a private meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin before they visit the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of German reunification.

A boat race is also planned in the German city of Heidelberg, which is twinned with Cambridge. William and Kate will cox opposing rowing teams in the race.
