THREE-INCOMES YENTOB

-

ALAN Yentob still earns up to £500,000 a year from the BBC, which includes his salary for fronting littleknown arts series Imagine.

He resigned from his £183,000-ayear role as the broadcaster’s creative director in 2015, but that has done little harm to his finances.

Mr Yentob, 0, enjoyed a BBC salary of up to £249,999 and a £220,000 pension last year. If someone were to buy the same pension today, it would cost them about £6.9million. He also has a deal with the BBC’s commercial arm, handing him a slice of the revenues every time an episode of Imagine is sold to an overseas broadcaster. It pushes his earnings to around £500,000.

One BBC news correspondent said: ‘And how is Alan Yentob in the same bracket as Laura Kuenssberg when she works so hard and no one is sure what he does?’
