Soon we’ll wear fitness trackers inside our bodies

-

FORGET wearing your Fitbit on your wrist – in a few years’ time it may well be in your wrist.

That’s according to Amazon, who has launched a report predicting the technology trends of the future.

Their research says that wearable fitness trackers such as Fitbits will shrink, to the stage that they can be implanted into the body.

Also on the horizon are devices that can translate the barks and miaows of cats and dogs – meaning that pet owners could one day understand what their beloved animals want.

The report, which marks the launch of Amazon’s ‘Shop The Future’ online store, also said that technology trends ‘will revolve around ease’, with consumers turning to gadgets that help them maximise the time they have.

Advances are likely to focus on voiceactivated smart home hubs such as Amazon Echo and Google Home, with experts predicting that the technology will reach a point where ‘homes will increasingly manage themselves’.

The research also suggested consumers will become more independent, choosing to invest in products such as 3D printers to make things at home.

Expert Anne Lise Kjaer, of Kjaer Global, said: ‘The pace of innovation has never been faster and we’re seeing exciting new products that improve our health, beautify our homes, save us time and make entertainment more enthralling.’
