LUMB HAS TO CALL IT QUITS

NoTTINgHAM­SHIRE batsman Michael Lumb has been forced to retire with immediate effect because of an ankle injury. Lumb, 37, won the World Twenty20 with England in 2010 and also scored 106 on his one Day Internatio­nal debut against West Indies in 2014, although he only played two more oDIs. His limited-over prowess also saw him play in the Indian Premier League and Australia’s Big Bash. Lumb moved to Trent Bridge from Hampshire in 2012, having started out at Yorkshire — the county of his father Richard. LEEDS RHINOS great Rob Burrow has announced his intention to retire at the end of the current Betfred Super League season. The 34-year-old has spent his entire career with the Rhinos and won every major honour while at Headingley, including seven Grand Finals.
