Duchess dazzles the Deutsch

SHE’D already proved popular in Poland and a big hit in Berlin. And yesterday they were simply beside themselves in Heidelberg when Kate came to town.

With enthusiasm for the royals reaching new heights, thousands turned out to catch a glimpse of the Duchess with William.

The couple posed with locals in the market square – but failed to notice two cheeky boys flipping V-signs. The Duchess has been dubbed the ‘princess of hearts’ in Germany where the media has drawn comparisons between her and Princess Diana. Berliner Zeitung said pictures of Kate cuddling children were reminiscent of William’s mother.

Others are calling the royals ‘Her Majesty’s secret weapon’, and the trip – requested by the Foreign Office to boost support for Britain during the Brexit negotiations – ‘Die Charmeoffensive’.
