Linkin Park star dies at 41

LINKIN Par k singer Chester Bennington was found dead in a suspected suicide at his home last night.

Bennington, pictured, was close friends with Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, who killed himself in May. Yesterday would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.The body of 41-year- old Bennington was found in the Palos Verdes Estates area of Los Angeles.

His screeching vocals helped rock-rap band Linkin Park become one of the most commercially successful acts in the 2000s. The double Grammy Award-winning band recently performed in the UK on the European leg of their One More Light world tour, which saw them play to packed stadiums in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Their first album, Hybrid Theory – released in 2000 – propelled them to success and sold 10 million copies.
