THE chilling story of an African-American (played by British actor Daniel Kaluuya, left) who accompanies his white girlfriend home for the weekend, Get Out is a thriller, a horror film, a comedy — and a satire about race relations in the United States.

There are even elements of sci-fi. But best of all, Jordan Peele’s debut film as a director, made for less than $5 million (£3.86million), has taken more than $250 million (£193 million) at the global box office.

It’s one of the cinematic triumphs of the year.
