UKRAINIAN OLIGARCH FACING BRIBERY TRIAL
UKRAINIAN gas oligarch Dmytro Firtash bought the disused Brompton Road Tube station from the MoD for £53million in 2014.
The station was once used as a top secret World War II command centre for Winston Churchill. Mr Firtash has said he plans to convert the London site into flats.
The 52-year-old, pictured, made his purchase just weeks before his arrest in Vienna on a warrant from the FBI.
He was held on suspicion of involvement in the creation of a criminal group and paying bribes. In February, a court in Vienna approved a US request to extradite him to face trial on bribery charges. He denies the allegations.
