England’s May in Tigers move

JONNY MAY will sign for leicester Tigers after Gloucester finalised a swap deal for the England wing. May, 27, is set to join the Tigers in a move that will see second row Ed slater exchange Welford road for Kingsholm. Gloucester will also receive a fee believed to be in the region of £150,000 from leicester for the May transfer as he still had a year to run on his contract. The deal will be completed after May has returned from his honeymoon in the seychelles. slater, 29, had his Gloucester medical yesterday and unless any complicati­ons arise from that, the deal will go through by the weekend. May has notched up nine tries in 27 Tests and will be named today in Eddie Jones’s England training squad for a pre-season camp in london, as the head coach builds towards the autumn internatio­nals in November. WILL KELLEHER THE BBC will hold talks to decide whether to continue showing London’s ATP World Tour Finals on free-to-air TV from 2019. The talks come after Sky Sports were beaten to the rights to the ATP World Tour by US digital giants Amazon in a £10million-a-year deal. The BBC’s current contract lasts until 2018 — the same as Sky’s — and they will discuss whether to try for a new deal closer to the time. The ATP are likely to be keen to have the O2 Arena tournament shown on the BBC, allowing the finals to be watched by millions. The Corporatio­n’s current deal is for non-exclusive TV and full radio commentary rights. It includes the broadcast of eight singles matches from the tournament, including a semi-final and the final.
