BAIRSTOW LANDS CATCH OF THE DAY

MOEEN ALI brought up his half-century (main pic) with a huge six towards the media centre — but team-mate Jonny Bairstow stole the limelight by catching the shot from the Old Trafford balcony (above left). Before throwing it back, Bairstow made the most of the moment by brandishing the ball to the crowd (middle), a pose which captain Joe Root could not resist mocking (right). Afterwards, Moeen said: ‘I hit that one a bit straighter and Jonny absolutely loves it.’
