Davidson: Don’t count students as migrants
SCOTTISH Conservative leader Ruth Davidson has called for international students to be dropped from UK migration figures. She said Britain needed a ‘mature’ discussion about immigration and questioned Westminster Tory ministers’ pledge to reduce it to the tens of thousands. But she failed to point out the vow was also in the Scottish Conservatives’ general election manifesto. Miss Davidson said: ‘ If people don’t think that students should be included in the net migration numbers, let’s take them out.’ She also indicated they should have longer to find work after graduating.
