Ox set for crunch talks at Arsenal
ARSENAL will hold talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this week as they look to clear up uncertainty over his future.
The England international’s contract expires at the end of this season and there is no agreement in place over a new deal.
Arsenal could lose the 24-yearold for nothing next summer — a scenario they are keen to avoid.
Chelsea will be interested in the outcome of the talks as they plot to bring Oxlade-Chamberlain to Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte has already had a £25million bid rejected by Arsenal.
Wenger wants to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, whose deals also end next summer.
It remains to be seen whether the Arsenal board will look to apply pressure on Wenger to sell one of the trio this summer.
Wenger has publicly stated he will stand firm in his attempts to keep them at the club.
Arsenal duo Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall have joined Birmingham City on loan. Jon Toral is also set to go on loan, with Hull his likely destination.
